STEM @ PPS 2024/2025

An after school STEM Club is offered for Year 7,8 and 9 pupils each week, hosted by members of the Science department on a Tuesday from 3pm for one hour.  Activities will include a range of investigations and practical tasks that are not covered in the standard school curriculum with the purpose of promoting interest and enjoyment in the STEM subjects.  Pupils are able to sign up for this after-school enrichment via EduLink.

Other STEM opportunities are likely to be available to pupils throughout the academic year.  These will be communicated directly to pupils within their lessons and / or via parental email.  There is also a STEM noticeboard located outside between CM1 and Lab 2. Regular STEM announcements are also made in the weekly newsletter.

Last year, a group of our Year 8 pupils participated in the locally hosted Faraday Challenge run by the Institution of Engineering & Technology.
