Attendance & Absence
At Purbrook Park School we expect excellent attendance and punctuality from our pupils. Pupils who attend school regularly, and on time, make the most progress and secure the best results.
To reward those pupils who attend school every day, and on time, we award House points. At the end of every term we have a celebration assembly where pupils who secure 100% attendance are given certificates and additional House points. Pupils who achieve 100% attendance for the whole academic year are invited to our annual Prize Giving ceremony where they receive an award and a certificate.
To ensure we support pupils in achieving excellent attendance we have non-teaching Year Leaders who work closely with our tutors, pupils, their families and external agencies.

Request to authorise absence from school due to exceptional circumstances
Schools are only able to authorise absence from school in exceptional circumstances. In making a request for an authorised absence from school, you will need to explain why the circumstances are exceptional. Please note: There is no general right to authorise absence for a family holiday. If you take your child out of school without permission, the absence will be unauthorised and a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) will be issued by Hampshire County Council (HCC).
You are advised not to make any arrangements until your request has been considered.
Absences must be requested in writing; Leave of Absence forms are available from the Pastoral Hub.
If you have any questions about attendance or punctuality please refer to our Attendance and Punctuality policy or contact your child's house leader.
