STEM @ PPS 2026/2027

An after-school STEM Club is offered for Year 7 and 8 pupils each week, hosted by members of the Science department on a Wednesday from 3pm for one hour.  Activities will include a range of investigations and practical tasks that are not covered in the standard school curriculum with the purpose of promoting interest and enjoyment in STEM subjects.  Pupils are able to sign up for this after-school enrichment via EduLink.

Other STEM opportunities are likely to be available to pupils throughout the academic year.  These will be communicated directly to pupils within their lessons and / or via parental email.  There is also a STEM noticeboard located outside in the Quad area between Lab 2 and Lab 3. Regular STEM announcements are also made in the weekly newsletter.

Last year, trips included a STEM Challenge at a local school organised by the Rotary Club, a further STEM Challenge at Beaulieu Motor Museum and a visit to Portsmouth University.
