At Purbrook Park School, we believe that strong reading skills change lives. Reading is fundamental to success in education. Pupils who struggle to read face barriers across the curriculum. At Purbrook Park School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils develop the reading skills and habits needed to succeed both in school and beyond. Our mission is to ensure that every pupil develops the fluency, confidence and understanding needed to read well and think deeply. By working to raise the reading age of every pupil—particularly those who face disadvantage—we aim to ensure that all pupils leave our school able to engage fully with the world around them and ready to succeed in further education, employment and life.
