Purbrook Park School pupils help Home-Start Havant and Motiv8 Christmas Hamper Appeal 2025

This year, pupils from Purbrook Park School have shown their support for the Home-Start Havant charity (part of Home-Start Hampshire) and to Motiv8, who support local families in need throughout the year. At Christmas, Home-Start run a Christmas Hamper Appeal and the pupils at Purbrook Park School have been instrumental in making this happen!
Becky Smith, Lead Practitioner for Pupil Personal Development said, “I want to pass on a huge thank you to all our pupils, their families and staff who supported our Christmas Hamper appeal once again this year, supporting Home-Start Havant and Motiv8”.
These hampers are really special, with each tutor group being assigned a family to create a special Christmas Day Hamper for them.
We saw a range of delicious Christmas treats, everyday essentials, special Christmas toys and gifts as well as handmade Christmas cards from the tutor groups. The generosity of everyone was once again astounding! The charities were so amazed by each of the hampers.

Janine Milburn, the Havant Team Leader for Motiv8 said “I just wanted to send a huge thank you to all involved in the hampers. The hampers have all been delivered to the families who were met with amazement and tears of joy when they were handed over, and I wanted to want us to pass some of their comments on”.
‘Oh my, I would never have imagined all of this, it is going to be such a massive help’,
‘Amazing, I truly cannot believe this’.
‘I just can’t believe it, thank you, thank you, thank you."
‘Wow, just wow’
Janine said, “Along with thank you’s and huge smiles from every door we knocked on. I hope your young people realise what a massive difference they have made to the 25 families they donated to. Once again, a massive thank you to everyone who donated”.
Becky Smith, Lead Practitioner for Pupil Personal Development, said, "We are so proud of all the efforts our pupils have made this year and throughout the term exploring Character Virtues that relate to their Year group theme; Year 7 Kindness and Friendliness, Year 8 Enthusiasm and Creativity, Year 9 Authenticity and Teamwork, Year 10 Generosity and Gratitude and Year 11 Curiosity and Motivation. We hope that by taking part in this project our pupils have been inspired to think beyond their own circumstances and consider the impact their actions can have on the wider world”.
