Good attendance and punctuality are crucial for effective learning. Only your child's Head of School, on behalf of the Headteacher, can authorise any absence.

If your son/daughter is absent from school for any reason, please telephone school on the first day of absence and every subsequent day.

Please leave details on the 24hr answerphone - your name, pupil's name, tutor group, reason for absence.

Any notes for absence should be deposited in the 'Absence Notes' box located at 'Pupil Services'.

Any pupil who misses their Tutor group registration, for any reason, must 'Sign In' at 'Pupil Services'. It is vitally important that the school is aware of all persons on site in case of any emergency.

Any pupil leaving school at any time other than at the end of the school day must 'sign out' at 'Pupil Services' with the relevant permission to do so.

Any pupils arriving in school after the start of registration (8.30am) will attend a 15 minutes detention in A9 at lunchtime that day. Failure to attend at lunchtime will result in an hour detention on a Thursday.

Please note that parents must telephone or write a note if they believe their child has a good reason for their lateness and therefore should not receive a detention.

Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a system designed to support teaching and learning in an educational setting. A VLE provides a collection of tools such as those for assessment, communication, uploading of content, return of students' work, peer assessment, administration of student groups, collecting and organizing student grades, questionnaires, tracking tools, etc.
