| GCSE Media Studies is an OCR course designed to build on existing media awareness and contribute to future learning. Pupils who opt for the Media Studies course can choose to further their skills in A level courses and at degree level with a view to various careers within the media. |

| The Course |
There is a great deal of flexibility within the course for pupils to specialise in areas they are most interested in. Through a variety of approaches, this course will allow candidates to develop their enjoyment of media texts, in addition to developing a framework for critical analysis of meanings and contexts.
The course specification integrates theoretical and practical approaches to the subject which includes two Controlled Assessment Units and one examinable unit. |

| Unit B324 - Production Portfolio in Media Studies |
| Within this unit, each pupil produces a major practical production. They also produce their own evidence of research and planning alongside an evaluation of their finished product. |
